    1. The relationship between Macbeth and his wife is mostly controlled by the wife. The wife always judges his manhood like when she says your ambition needs to match the actions.
    2. Divorce each other because with that dangerous relationship it will eventually lead to someones end.
    3. The witches will appear again because I think another prophecy will be told. The witches symbolize truth. Their purpose is to bring clarity to the future of Macbeth.

    1) they seem kike a normal couple but they are excessively greedy. macbeth is a respected general in the kingdom and their postion must be elevated if the king is going to eat dinner at their home. but because they are so power-greedy, they will even kill the king to achieve their goals.
2)take it easy, it is not all about being in control. you guys have a one way ticket to hell if you kill the king just for power!
    3) the witches will probably appear again and it might mean the time has come for Macbeth to kill the king or maybe macbeth will alreadty be in power and they will want to influence the way he controls the kingdom. Basically they just signify evil and malice in the story.

  3.   Donovan Colquitt on November 5, 2010 10:45 am

    1. I think their relationship is odd and twisted in a way. It seems as if Lady Macbeth wants Macbeth to prosper for her own gain. They seem to love one another though.

    2. A marriage counselor might tell them to accept each for who they are and not try to change each other.

    3. The witches will probably come again. They symbolize negative future events. They’re purpose is to prophecy or hint the malicious outcomes of Macbeth’s actions.

  4.   Jasmine Newkirk on November 5, 2010 11:52 am

    1. The relationship between the Macbeths is dominated by Lady Macbeth. She calls all the shots.

    2. A marriage conselor might advise Macbeth to step up and take control of the relationship because if he continues to take orders from his wife, she might lead him down the wrong path.

    3. I believe the witches will appear again. I believe they symbolize what is to come, possibly bad things. The witches purpose is to foreshadow the tings to come.

  5.   edwardbuieii on November 5, 2010 11:57 am

1.The relationship between Macbeth and his lady is broken. Lady Macbeth is somewhat crazy and gets her husband to go along with her greedy schemes.

2.A marriage counselor may advise Macbeth to try to compromise more with Lady Macbeth instead of giving in to her schemes. He may also recommend Lady Macbeth for her own special counseling.

3.I do believe that the witches will appear again, maybe after they kill the king. the witches symbolize the unfolding of bad events and their purpose is to forwarn people of their fates.

1.) I would describe the relationship of Macbeth and Lady Macbeth as Lady Macbeth being the dominate of the two. She is far more ambitious and power hungry. Macbeth is less or more recessive.

2.)A marriage councelor would advise the couple to attempt to share their true feelings with each other. Macbeth should not only try to be brave in the real world but also in his marriage, letting his wife know that he can handle his own. I would advise Lady Macbeth to support her husband in what ever he decides to do.

3.) I believe the witches will return.I also believe they symbolize the fate of Macbeth guiding him to his own destiny, although he might not realize it just yet.

  7.   Jessica D Bryant on November 5, 2010 11:58 am

    1. Their relationship is akward. Lady Macbeth seems to wear the pants in the relationship and likes having power. Macbeth is a little bit more chilled out than his wife.
    2. A marriage counselor may tell them that they have to realize marriage is a partnership and one cannot control the other.
    3. I think the witches will appear again, I believe they symbolize bad luck. Their purpose is to foreshadow a negative future.

  8.   Damani G on November 5, 2010 11:58 am

Macbeth and Lady Macbeth dont have a strong relationship. Lady Macbeth has too much power and is very possessive. While Macbeth loves her to death and has no rules for her.

2.A marriage counselor would tell the Machbeths to have a better communication. the counselor would also let Lady macbeth know that she is trying to be too controlling in the relationship.

    3. I think the witches will come back midway in the story and at the very end. The witches sybolize a sourch of the future. The witches are foreshadowing Macbeths Fate in the story.

  9.   Gabrielle Bradford on November 5, 2010 11:59 am

    1. I would describe Lady Macbeth as the man of the relationship. She wears the pants of the marriage and it’s her way our the highway. That chick is ruthless and will do what she has to do to get her way. She’s a bad influence on her hubby.

    2. I would tell them that they need to think about about the consequences of their actions before they carry them out. They also need to communicate more effectively, that is the number key in marriage. :)

    3. I think they will appear again. They symbolize the bad events and their purpose is to foreshadow.

  11.   Danielle Ross on November 5, 2010 12:01 pm

    1. I would describe the relationship between Macbeth and Lady Macbeth as Lady Macbeth being the dominant one in the relationship. She is so adamant to become royalty. She sees Macbeth is beginning to change his mind and that he is having second thoughts yet continues to push him to kill the king. I think she is being selfish by forcing him to do this and that he needs to stand up for himself and put his foot down. He needs to tell her that he doesn’t want to be king.

    2. A marriage counselor might tell Macbeth and his wife that marriage is a partnership and that one person can’t control the actions of the other for their own personal gain. He or she might tell Lady Macbeth to stop bossing Macbeth around and to listen and take into account what he wants. The counselor might tell Macbeth to learn to express his feelings in a more effective manner, and to stop letting his wife control his future.

    3. I do think the witched will appear again. I believe that in the beginning they symbolized foreshadowed events and when they return they will symbolize the tragic events that are to come.

  12.   Brandon Moody on November 5, 2010 2:06 pm

    1) I would describe it as two power hungry people working together to get to a higher title i.e. king and queen.
    2) A marriage cousler would probaly tell them to be thankful for what they have and not be so greedy.
    3) I do think that the witches will appear again. I think that their purpose is to stir up trouble and progress the storyline.

  13.   Asia Osley on November 6, 2010 9:45 am

    1. The Macbeths seem like they love each other but Lady Macbeth always like to be in charge.

    2. A marriage counselor might recommend that they be on one accord with one another and because Macbeth is a man he must be the leader in the relationship at least sometimes.

    3. The witches will appear again. I believe they symbolize evil deeds and spirits in which they conjure up. The witches purpose is to create chaos and make live difficult.

  14.   Jade Weathers on November 6, 2010 2:00 pm

    1) The relationship between Lady Macbeth and Macbeth is similar to Adam and Eve. Eve knew what God told her not to do and yet she let evil defile her plans. It is because of Eve that Adam fell. Both Lady Macbeth and Macbeth are blinded by power but Lady Macbeth is ruthless. Not only did she tell Macbeth what he was going to do, but she questioned his manhood if he didn’t do it! The audience can see who wears the pants in this relationship.
    2) Honestly, I don’t think a marriage counselor can solve their problems. Although the Macbeth’s plans aren’t for the best, they are working together as a couple should. If anything, the marriage counselor can tell Lady Macbeth to cut down on the low blows that she throws at Macbeth. (Truth be told, Macbeth could’ve just manned up and said no)
3)I do think the witches will appear again. I think they symbolize fate. To me, their purpose is to foretell what is to happen; however, how it happens is not up to them. I think the characters twist fate. Yes, the witches said that Macbeth would be king, but they did not say that Macbeth had to kill Duncan.

  15.   James Redmond on November 6, 2010 2:02 pm

    1. In the Macbeth’s relationship Lady Macbeth calls the shots while Macbeth lets her walk all over him like a welcome mat.

    2. A marriage counselor might advise Macbeth to grow a backbone when it comes to dealing with Lady Macbeth or for the pair to see other people.

    3. The witches will appear again to foreshadow what happens next. They are somewhat like oracles of death, conflict, and despair.

  16.   Chelsee Foley on November 6, 2010 4:03 pm

    1. Mr.Macbeth and his marriage is controlled by Mrs.Macbeth. They are both clueless in their situation, but Lady Macbeth calls all the shots. If Macbeth wouldn’t do as his wife says, his man hood would be questioned.

2.A marriage counselor would tell Mr&Mrs Macbeth that a marriage is equal and that Macbeth should step up and say how he feels. Also, the counselor would tell Lady Macbeth that she shouldn’t be so controlling and that she needs to not feed off of greed. If I were a Marriage counselor, i’d tell Macbeth that he needs to divorce his wife. |lol|

3.I believe the witches will appear again so they can foreshadow whats to come in Macbeth’s future.

  17.   Arisa Settles on November 6, 2010 7:22 pm

    1. I would describe Macbeth and Lady MacBeth’s relationship as being broken and unbalanced. Lady Macbeth seems to have dominance over Macbeth and control her husband for the benefit of her own desires. She often questions his manhood and appears to be selfish. Macbeth doesnt stand up for himself.

2.A marriage counselor would advise the Macbeth’s to communicate their feelings to each other more often. He or she would also tell the Macbeth’s to find balance within their relationship and compromise so that both people are happy. More importantly, the marriage counselor would advise Macbeth to stand up for himself and for Lady Macbeth to support her husband and let a man be a man.

3.I definetly think that the witches will appear again, more than likely, more times than one. They symbolize negative events and fate. Their purpose is to foreshadow things that will happen, usually bad things.

  18.   sundra hilsinger on November 6, 2010 9:28 pm

    1. I think lady Macbeth wear the pants in the relationship, and shes really selfish.

    2. Macbeth should start taking control of the relationship, and lady macbeth needs to take some kind of meds so she can chill out.
    3. I do think the witches will come back they symbolize the plays insanity, lack of humanity. they help with the plays forshadowing.

  19.   James Johnson on November 7, 2010 12:58 am

1.) The relationship between Macbeth and Lady Macbeth is diporportionate. By that I mean their relationship only seems to work for one and not the other. Lady Macbeth is the control freak and runs the relationship.

2.) A marriage counselor might give advice for both the Macbeths to write down all the good of the relationship on one side of the paper and all the bad on the other side. If the good out ways the bad then the little spark they have together might still be worth shining. :)

3.) Honestly, I do think the witches will appear again. My gut feeling says so. The witches are negative energy and they symbolize evil. Their purpose is to reflect Macbeth’s lifestyle of future events that will prevail.

  20.   Brian Sutton on November 7, 2010 1:24 am

    1. Their relationship is a weird one. Lady Macbeth seems to take control of the relationship and likes to have the final say. Macbeth seems to be more relaxed and goes with the flow.
    2. I think a marriage counselor would tell Macbeth to try and have a lot better relationship with Lady Macbeth or break up with her.
    3. The witches will come again and they symbolize negative future events that seem good for the moment. There purpose is to guide Macbeth into a fulfilling direction.

  21.   Joy Evans on November 7, 2010 10:38 am

    1. The relationship between Macbeth and Lady Macbeth is unbalanced. Lady Macbeth seems to be in charge and wears the pants and she only thinks about herself basically.

    2. A marriage counselor would tell the couple that Macbeth needs to step up and be the support in the relationship and that Lady Macbeth needs to back off a little.

    3. The three witches will appear again. They are important characters and they symbolize Macbeth’s fate and the negative events to come. I think their purpose is start trouble while clarifying Macbeth’s future.

  22.   Ashley Jones on November 7, 2010 1:57 pm

    1. Macbeth and Lady Macbeth’s relationship is not where it should be due to Lady Macbeth being so controlling toward Macbeth. She says whatever it takes to get what she wants and Macbeth seems to just follow through.

    2. A marriage counselor might tell them to see each other’s sides a little more and communicate better.

    3. The witches probably will appear again just to add more suspense to the storyline. They symbolize evil and negativity and their purpose probably is to reveal events to Macbeth that is to come later.

  23.   Aja Nero-Williams on November 7, 2010 2:04 pm

1)I believe the relationship between Macbeth and Lady Macbeth is unhealthy because Lady Macbeth is trying to control it. Which also makes Macbeth look weak as a man.

2)A marriage counselor would tell the Macbeths to try to balance out their wants and needs and especially tell lady macbeth to be less selfish and listen to Macbeths ideas/opinions. If it doesn’t work out then they need to find other people

3)The three witches will appear again. They provide plenty of foreshadowing for the story.

  24.   Kelli Jordan on November 7, 2010 2:18 pm

    1. I’d describe the relationship between Lady Macbeth and Macbeth as Lady Macbeth being very controlling.

    2. A marriage couselor might give the Macbeths advice saying that a relationship is 50/50, not 30/70. Lady Macbeth should not be so dominate, and she should back down a little and Macbeth should care more.

    3. I think the witcehs will appear again. They symbolize the future and whatever it holds for Macbeth.

  25.   The Real Gabrielle (Garrett) on November 7, 2010 2:31 pm

    1. The Macbeths have a female dominated relationship. Lady Macbeth is power hungry and greedy, and Macbeth will do anything to please her. Although they have their flaws, I believe at one point they were very much in love, but I also believe Lady Macbeth’s greed could be the cause of the rift between them. Macbeth clearly loves her very much, as he lets her control the relationship. Lady Macbeth loves her husband, but her selfishness causes her to use him for her own gain.

    2. As a marriage counselor, I would recommend Lady Macbeth fall back and take into account her husband’s feelings, and make decisions as a partnership rather than her dictating. I would recommend Macbeth be more assertive and speak up, and let his feelings be known. They both need to be very open minded in order for compromise to take place.

    3. The witches serve as devices for foreshadowing, and I think they’ll appear before every major event.

  26.   Amelia Thompson on November 7, 2010 2:44 pm

    1. I would not say that the relationship between Macbeth and Lady Macbeth is one of dominance. While Lady Macbeth appears to be more dominate over Macbeth, they both have the same ambitions, she is not forcing him to do anything. Macbeth is willing to think it, while Lady Macbeth is willing to do what it takes to have that thought turn into reality. They both wish for the same things, have the same heartless plans in mind. What they both admire, Lady Macbeth is not afraid to get, she is ruthless in her acts.

    2. A marriage counselor might tell the Macbeths that they have no problems in there marriage. I think this because on this surface they make it seem as if they don’t. They are both great actors in their mischief. To everyone around them they are the happy couple. That is a role I’m sure they would not drop for a marriage counselor. The Macbeths are too power hungry to have anything get in their way to the top.

    3. The witches will appear again, they have a very significant part in Macbeth and clearly a huge affect on Macbeth himself. Macbeth turns to the witches for answers, when he feels he is in danger, for his future which he cannot see. For me the witches symbolize the beginning of Macbeth’s downfall. You could wonder if Macbeth would have ever killed Duncan or anyone else if he had not spoken to the witches in the first place.

  27.   James Harden on November 7, 2010 3:44 pm

    1. Macbeth and Lady Macbeth seem like opposites. Both of them like power and control, but Lady Macbeth would do anything to get it while Macbeth has more morals. i guess opposites attract.
    2. If i was a counselor i would send Lady Macbeth to a therapist or something. she shouldnt be that greedy. For Macbeth on the other hand, i would tell him not to be so easily persuaded.
    3. Do you think the witches will appear again? If so, what do they symbolize? What is their purpose? i do beleive the witches will appear again. they symbolize lust, greed, and evil. i think their purpose might be to see Duncans kingdom fall, or mabey to get revenge on Duncan.

  28.   Christopher Whyte on November 7, 2010 3:49 pm

    1. Macbeth and Lady Macbeth have a loving relationship. It seems that Lady Macbeth tries to pressure her husband to do things for her own benefit, even though he is already willing to it. She might have a hidden agenda.
    2. A marriage counselor might tell them to accept one another regardless of their situations. True love is unconditional.
3.The witches will appear because they act like a fortune cookie got Macbeth. They symbolize Macbeth’s truth and his prophecy.

  29.   Stephanie Vaitiekus on November 7, 2010 4:36 pm

    1. Lady Macbeth and Macbeth seems to have a tumultuous relationship. Where Lady Macbeth is greedy and controlling and Macbeth just allows her to walk all over him. Although she genuinely seems care for her husband’s well-being their is an underlying sense of me, me, me. The fact that she is even planning on killing someone and forcing her husband to go along with it, without comprehending the consequences, further enhances herself as being the antagonistic women and the protagonist Macbeth, they foil each other and seem to be complete opposites.

    2. A marriage counselor would probably say that their relationship is crowded with only one person expressing and dominating the relationship. That Macbeth falls to the background to avoid conflict from his wife; thus, creating the monster that she is. Certainly there is way too many issues on both parts of the partnership, but mainly by budging and shifting some of the control to Macbeth they can mend some of the damage before they go in blindly into this planned crime.

    3. These witches will definitely come again. They symbolize destiny, since they can get their own wants and needs through spells and potions (general stereotypical witches), also through their prophesies they control or know the destiny of Macbeth. They constantly provide a humorous tone and secretive evilness to themselves. Thus their purpose is to control the destiny or foretell the tragedy to come. Just like Lady Macbeth they seem to have control of Macbeth and have an overcoat of something they are after, but it’s not entirely clear yet.

  30.   Kayla Rouser on November 7, 2010 6:19 pm

    1. Lady macbeth and macbeth relationship is more dominant and submissive. Lady macbeth is the dominant one who controls macbeth and macbeth just follows
    2. Macbeth needs to learn how to think for himself, and lady macbeth shouldn’t be so evil
    3. The witches in the story foreshadow, what is to come later on. They symbolize macbeths’ fate and destiny

  31.   Germain on November 7, 2010 6:30 pm

    1) I would describe Macbeth and Lady Macbeth’s relationship as “them against the world.” The feel that if it is something they want all they need is each other to get it.But sometimes Lady MacBeth forces Macbeth to do things because she is a little more rutheless than he is.

2)I think a marriage counselour would tell the Macbeths to not base their relationship on acheiving success and make sure that if they make a decision that both parties agree.

3)The witches will show up again because they represent Macbeths prophecy. Their purpose is to reveal and further Macbeth’s ambitions.

  32.   Malik Johnson on November 7, 2010 6:54 pm

    1) The relationship between Macbeth and Lady Macbeth is built upon Lady Macbeth’s dominance and Macbeth acceptance of the submissive role, as well as the fact that both are very power hungry.
    2) A marriage consouler would advise that Macbeth should assert himself more and to create a more equal relationship.
    3) The witches symbolize fate and the inner demons of Macbeth. They shall appear again to put Macbeth once more on fate’s path.

  33.   Shalisha Hammond on November 7, 2010 6:57 pm

    1) The relationship between the Macbeths are one of a controlling, dominant structure. Lady Macbeth seems to control and strongly influence her husband in more ways than one, while Macbeth has very submissive and nonresistant manner towards her.
    2) In my opinion, a marriage counselor would probably tell the Macbeths to either get a divorce or Lady Macbeth is going to have to forgo the majority of the power she seems to hold in the relationship. The counselor would help teach them to work together more, and not have a decision be so one-sided.
    3) I definately believe the witches will appear once again throughout the story Macbeth. They symbolize fate and the dark manifestations of what is actually in the heart, mind, and soul of Macbeth, and of his future actions.

  34.   Charles Boles on November 7, 2010 7:39 pm

1.I feel that the roles in their relationship are flipped. Lady Macbeth is the man and Macbeth is the women. Seems like she wants Macbeth to be successful but only to her own personal gain.
2.I think tha a marriage counselor would tell lady Macbeth to let the man be the man. They can salvage thier marriage because they obviously love one another. Though Macbeth has to man up.
    3. The wicthes will show up again. They symbolize the Literary function of forshadowing because they prophosize soon to come events. They will show up again when MAcbeth becomes king to tell him when or how he will demise or succeed

  35.   Chene Karega on November 7, 2010 9:17 pm

    1. I would describe the relationship between Macbeth and Lady Macbeth as strange. They both seem crazy. At least Lady Macbeth is willing to admit she’s greedy and she’ll do anything for power.

    2. A marriage counselor might tell the Macbeths to calm down. It’s nice they want to do things together, but there are other activities besides murder.

    3. I do think the witches will appear again. They symbolize clarity and the future. Their purpose is to help Macbeth become king.

  36.   Alexis Saulter on November 7, 2010 9:29 pm

    1) The relationship between Macbeth and Lady Macbeth seems to be unequal in power. Lady Macbeth is selfish and greedy. It is obvious that she “wears the pants” in the relationship. Macbeth sits back and accepts the way things are.
    2) A marriage counselor would probably tell Macbeth to stand up for what he believes and to express his opinion more. Lady Macbeth would be told to respect her husband’s wishes and to be less pushy.
    3) The witches will come back. They are symbolic of negative fates and darkness or evil. Their purpose is to foreshadow future events.

  37.   Tori Ely on November 7, 2010 9:41 pm

    1. Between Macbeth and Lady Macbeth, Lady Macbeth is the more dominate one. Though Macbeth is brave in during war he doesn’t seem to be that brave when dealing with his controlling wife.
    2. A marriage counselor would probably advise Lady Macbeth to calm down a bit and allow her husband to make his own choices.
    3. The witches will appear again. They foreshadow Macbeth’s fortune.

  38.   Kiara A. Tennille on November 7, 2010 9:54 pm

    1) i would discribe macbeth and lady macbeth relationship as a noraml couple. Lady macbeth thinks that she runs the relationship just like a regular woman and macbeth doesnt say anything.
2)A marriage consuler would explain to them what a marriage is really about and make sure that lady macbeth goes to a therapist weekly.
3)i do think that we witches will appear again; at least i hope so because im witch one! but anywho i think they lead us up to the bad things that happen throughout the play! thier purpose is to show the bad things that the characters are going through!

  39.   Paul Gaines on November 7, 2010 9:58 pm

1.) I think the relationship between Macbeth and Lady Macbeth is strange but I think they do care about each other. Lady Macbeth is definitely the more controlling of the two in the relationship.
2.)A marriage counselor might advices this couple to learn to be more equal in the relationship and tell Lady Macbeth not to be so controlling.
3.) I think the witches will show up again and their purpose is to foreshadow negative events.

  40.   Edwin Peart on November 7, 2010 10:01 pm

    1. I think the relationship between the two is odd but at the same time it’s typical because so many relationships are dominated and dictated by the woman in the relationship.
    2. The marriage counselor would most likely tell both of the Macbeths’ to be their own person and not let other people influence their actions.
    3. I think the witches will appear again and they will symbolize the future and what it holds. Their purpose would be to forshadow the future of Macbeth and let him know what he is really feeling inside of his own heart.

  41.   Brandi Collins on November 7, 2010 11:11 pm

    1. Lady Macbeth is very domineering and vindictive. It’s surprising that she and Macbeth are married because their personalities are totally different. Macbeth believes in success, the right way, while Lady Macbeth believes in being at the top by any means necessary.

    2. A marriage counselor should tell the Macbeths that a relationship is just not for the two of them. Lady Macbeth is obviously destructive of Macbeth and she is a bad influence over him.
    3. The witches will appear again through apparitions once King Duncan will die. They symbolize the secrets, emotions and desires of a person, especially Macbeth.

  42.   Ms. Bush on November 8, 2010 10:53 am

    Excellent work class!

  43.   Thurman Hall III on November 8, 2010 4:10 pm

    1. I think the relationship between Macbeth and Lady Macbeth is sort of different from a lot of relationships because they are very different from each other. Macbeth is more of a caring person and Lady Macbeth is more rough than the average woman.

    2. A marraige counselor would probably tell them to sit down and try to work things out instead of her criticizing his manly ways.

3.Yes the witches will reappear when Macbeth’s prophecy is manifesting. I think their purpose was to show Macbeth’s real demons that are deep within him that he doesnt know of yet.
